Josh's Mission Farewell...

It was kind of a mad dash after getting home from China on July 11 to get ready for Josh's farewell on July 20.   I really tried to do everything I could before we left to be ready.  And thanks to family, friends, and the most amazing neighbor EVER, I was able to enjoy being home with the kids again and making sure Linli was adjusting well.  And honestly I was grateful we had chosen that Sunday for his meeting.  More than once I questioned it but I can tell you it was awesome to have the stress of that over and STILL know I have 2-1/2 weeks with him before he leaves.  And I was really hoping that he and Linli could really bond and get to know each other before he's gone.  So even though it was crazy I would do it the same again.   I think it was perfect timing for our family and Linli was a total champ with everything.


Josh did an amazing job and I was so proud of him.  His talk was so personal and sincere and his testimony of the gospel was evident in every line.  It was a mom payback day for sure.  It was an emotional day but not just for me and not because I was sad, I think the spirit of the Lord was felt so strongly and also I believe there's a very special spirit that comes with missionary work.   It's impossible to not be moved when talking about the Lord's work.  

We are so excited for Josh's adventure and journey ahead.  I know the experiences he will have will be like nothing else.   He will learn things that I cannot teach him and I am so grateful for that.   I know there will be hard days and we will miss him like crazy but I wouldn't want him anywhere else. So I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and leave my little boy in His Hands.  We have prayed and hoped for this day and are so proud of the decisions Josh has made that have led him to where he is.    Josh you will be amazing and we will pray for you and keep you in our hearts always.  
And a big thanks to all those who came, supported, and loved our boy!  I did not expect the turnout we had.   It was crazy, the house was packed, and it was one of the best days ever!!!    He has so many that love him and we are SO grateful for that!

    Wish we could have been there. Everything looks just beautiful. Love your decorations, your cake AND everything else. Sounds like it was a perfect day in every way!

It's crazy to realize that it's already fall. With the kids going back to school and summer winding down, I just can't believe how fast they grow. Sometimes I wish I was the homeschooling mother. They spend way too much time in school. I feel a little deprived....but I won't flatter myself into actually thinking they would want to spend all day with me anyway. They have been in school two days and of course the little ones love it! J.D. and Nick think it's great and they love their teachers. J.D. also really thinks eating lunch at school is cool. A Little Talky Time and a Very Sweet Reunion.....

Okay so it's been long, almost a month, since my last post. I'm a slacker. There were many times I thought about posting like when Josh had his first golf tournament and although they didn't win, he came in second on his team. Josh had lots going on this month like his new braces. I had hoped to do a whole post just about him but we kept forgetting the camera every time he had his team shirt on and the fact that his golf clubs are in a locker at the golf course didn't help.....or maybe it's just because we don't see much of him anymore and when he is home, we are doing homework. Notice I didn't say Josh is doing homework, but that WE are doing homework. Meili's 6th Birthday...

Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake.  That was not a problem.  Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us.  Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us.  We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town.  It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power.  We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling!  JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting.  Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy.  I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving.
