Meili's Preschool Graduation...

Image
Wow what a great afternoon we had watching Meili's preschool program and realizing how much she has grown in the last almost 3 years.  She has definitely turned into a beautiful little girl and is no longer the little toddler we brought home from China.  She is so ready for kindergarten and is as smart as a whip.  She has loved preschool and Miss Traci, Miss Linda, and Miss Shelby have been fabulous!  These ladies are amazing and Meili loves them so much!  She will really miss them.  In fact, Nick and J.D. had the privilege of going to preschool at Miss Traci's and even now they still get super jealous that Meili gets to go.  Miss Traci just has such a special way with these kids.  She is so patient and loving, and they all adore her!   Congratulations baby girl!!  Watch out world, here she comes!!

Abi & Student Council...

Image
Abi had a fantastic year on student council.  They had so many fun activities and made friendships that will last a lifetime.  She was really feeling like it was a race to the end and she couldn't figure out how to slow it all down.  I was even super sad along with her at the last assembly to see all these darling kids wrap it up for the year. One of the last activities of the year was an assembly to celebrate 100 years at North Cache.  One of their responsibilities was to track down alumni and call and invite them to be honored at the assembly.  It was awesome because Grandma Linda is an alumni and she was so sweet when Abi called and said she would be there (long drive for 30 mins of school assembly :)).  Anyway, it was a fabulous day and meant so much to Abi to have her grandma there.  It was a very cute assembly and we got some cute pics.

Memorial Day....

We had a great weekend over Memorial Day this year.  My parents came up and we went out to Clarkston to decorate my grandparents, uncles, and other relatives' graves.  It was so fun and Meili and Abi were able to go and really enjoyed it as well.  Here are some pics of beautiful Clarkston.  Martin Harris Grave  My dear sweet Uncle Burke who we miss so much. My Grandma (the second Priscilla in a line of 5 generations including me & Abi) & Grandpa Godfrey  We also, as is tradition, went to the Hyde Park Breakfast bright and early Monday morning.  It's always so fun for Russel to connect again with those that he grew up with and see all the people that knew him and were such a big part of his life.  And then we visited Grandpa Earl's grave and brought some miniature red roses (his favorite color).  We were so missing Josh as he was working but he was there in spirit. After that, we picked up a few friends and headed to first dam for a pi...

Greenville Mile...

Image
This year was super fun at the Greenville Mile.  Both of the little boys ran in it.  I have never had two kids run it in the same year.  They both did so great and I was so proud of them for being involved.  JD came in 8th place in his grade and got 7:04 for his time.  Nick finished in the top part of his grade as well but I'm not sure the exact number as there were quite a few coming.  I think he ran it in about 7:15.  They both were so cute.  It was really fun to see their different personalities shining through.  JD had his game face on and was very competitive about the whole thing.  He had planned out different strategies and got himself all pumped up for the big event.  In fact he was so mad because he got a bad side ache and wasn't able to do his best.  The pictures say it all. Nick on the other hand was super laid back and relaxed about the whole thing.  When they lined the 5th grade boys up at the starting line, h...

Talents, Experiments, and Derbys...

I was so proud of my two little boys.  They learned a duet on the piano (La Bamba) and then after much begging on my part tried out for the school talent show (Greenville's Got Talent).  It was a really cute song and there aren't many opportunities when the song has mixed levels for my boys to play together.  They agreed to tryout (maybe with a little bribe) but was told by a teacher that piano talents never make the final cut.  Well they were thrilled when they found out they made it.  They played at the assembly in front of the whole school.  It was awesome.  When the song first starts it's just Nick's part, so JD stood up from behind the piano and encouraged the audience to start clapping.  Really fun to have the audience involvement. Way to go boys!! Nick also really wanted to be involved in the School Science Fair this year.  I'm ashamed to say this but I actually begged him not to do it.  By that time of year, I'm starting to lose ...
