Spring Break 2011....
We had an amazing trip with my entire family over Spring Break. We are all still reeling from it. We started out at Disneyworld for a couple of days which of course was craziness trying to cram it all in but also really fun and the kids had a great time. Here are a few pics from Florida.
After Disney World we packed up and drove back to Ft. Lauderdale where we boarded the Allure of the Seas. It is currently the biggest cruise ship in the world. Our destination....the Eastern Caribbean. The real story? No one cared too much about the destination.....it was all about being on this ship. And it did not disappoint. It was over-the-top amazing!!! We've been on cruises before and they have all been great but this one totally takes the cake. The kids have always really enjoyed being on the ships in the past but this one really put them over the edge. When we would get off the ship.....they couldn't wait to get back on the ship. Some of their favorites included the zip line 12 stories high on the top of the ship, the amazing rock climbing wall, the skating rink, miniature golf course, flow rider (surf machine), the carousel (definitely Meili's fav), the teen zone, the kid zone, the all you can eat ice cream by the pool (well maybe this was Meili's favorite), the whirlpool (lazy river type thing), Central Park (it was like a little central park in the middle of the ship), Johnny Rockets, the candy store (where our little nephew pulled the handle on one of the bins and effectively bought $18.00 worth of candy in about 2 seconds), the cupcake store, pizza at any hour (many times finding the kids in their room at 11:00 p.m. with pizza thinking they were pretty darn cool), and i could go on and on.
It was a character sailing so we had lots of meet and greets with the Dreamworks characters.....favorites...Shrek and Fiona....oh and of course Puss and Boots.
While we were taking this picture of the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa, one little boy was walking by and asked my sister if that was all one family. My sister proudly said yes they are all cousins. The little boy's eyes got big and he said "wow, I didn't think people had families that big anymore." Big? Really??? Not so much.....we know others with lots more. :)
After we got home, Meili woke up the next morning asking for ice cream. And now whenever we do flashcards and we come to the picture of a ship, she will say "ship" and then point to herself and say "Meili." Then I'll say something like "yes, Meili went on a ship." She then holds up her little hand and points to her finger and says "one more time." It was an amazing trip and we made memories we will never forget. THANK YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!!!!!! We loved it and will always remember the amazing time we had.
Wow, you guys vacation in style! That looks like so much fun!! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! This trip looks SOOOO much fun. I need to get on that ship. My kids would absolutely love it. I also am loving the pictures of the dress up nights--everyone looks so pretty. The cousins in their matching dresses are darling!
