The ZOO...."I Love KungFuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!"

Bad day temperature wise to go to the zoo, but we had a great time anyway. It was drippy wet, hot and sunny. We haven't seen much of the sun this trip. However, in Guangzhou they have blue skies that you actually see. Smog isn't as much of a problem. The rest of our stay the air has looked like Logan around January or February. Anyway, today was fun. Quick story about the zoo. We walked along a pathway to see a different area of the zoo and I saw a lady in tears. In english I asked if all was ok. In chinese a frantic older woman tells me a story and points to her daughters foot which is bleeding from a 5mm opening on the great toe of her right foot. Our guide translated the story for us. The woman reports that a snake about 3 feet in length just came out of the bushes and bit her foot. They made me walk next to the bushes for the rest of the day! No kidding, this woman had a puncture wound on her toe, bleeding!!!

Meili seemed to enjoy her day at the zoo. We found some gatorade like liquid and graham cracker like cookies and she was set to just sit and sweat and every once in a while look amused. We saw some active animals and some really smelly large cats (tigers). It was an impressive zoo. We had to resist the petting zoo because of our earlier experience.

Later in the day we had dinner at Lucy's, burgers/fries/apple pie a la mode with our friends the Welsh's. They leave to tomorrow for SLC. We are so excited for their family. We can't wait for Meili to come home with us and to see the family structure first hand. It is a little confusing here with all of the adopting families coming and going. Meili definitely understands Julie is something significant in her life. She sure clings to her. She will cling to me off and on, sometimes out of respect for her mom!

We continue to love this little angel and pray she will love what she has been put into. The McKenna household can be crazy at times. Our time is winding down. We still have some time to make a dent in the economy here and let Julie do what she does best. Viva la China for now. Sweetest times everyone. Be righteous. Peace out! Word to your mother......OK, Julie says to stop. I can't play anymore.
