Mowana? Lost in translation....
Does anyone out there know what this word means? Reed? Meili says this word quite often and then starts to laugh, a lot. We can't find 10 cow woman video anywhere here so it can't be from Johnny Lingo. We get quite the giggles watching our stand up comedian of a daughter. She is very silly indeed, just not first thing in the morning or coming back to the hotel room. She loves to be on the move. Right now she has squeaky shoes on and is running around, from the front door to the bathroom. She is either bouncing like TIGGER or crawling on all fours. It can't be any worse (all the germs she is acquiring on the floor) than the 5 cab rides a day. Well, maybe those cab rides are worse.
Today was full of lots of memories. We spent most of the morning with the Welsh's before they left for HOME!. Meili has loved spending time with them. She goes to them quite easily and enjoys the treats Paul gives her. She was cute with them when we had to say goodbye. Prior to our goodbyes we went back to the island for some last minute shopping. We got caught in our first rainstorm (during the day) with Meili. We didn't have an umbrella. From the pictures you may be able to tell where we got some umbrellas.
We made it home and Meili had a nap. Then it was off to the races, the rat races of shopping. Meili was a trooper. Their malls are much grander than ours. Everything in China is bigger (don't believe the Texas motto). The Mall had 8 or 9 levels and a complex network of hallways behind the main shops. It literally went on and on and on and on. We didn't even hit 1% of the shops. Julie was in Heaven. Meili received great training today....for more shopping days to come with mom, I am sure of it. Eight p.m. rolled around and Meili was done. She had had pizza at Pizza Hut, crackers, fruit snacks, water, some Chines Pocari Sweat drink (gross name for a good grape fruit like gatorade), and now she was done. It was quite noisy and throngs of people all over the place. It is an amazing place.
Tomorrow we will go to the American Consulate and we will take an oath to love and protect Meili and not abandon her. After that, it is pack our bags and leave Guangzhou Friday afternoon after Meili's VISA arrives (or MasterCard, which ever!). She is a sweetie. We will always take care of her. She is so brave. She sure worries about things when her mamma isn't around. Julie is a great mother to this little one. They are so fun to watch together. Meili loves all the attention Julie is giving her. It is much needed attention to help her adjust. I am so proud of you sweetheart (Julie).
FYI......Congratulation to Joshua for making the Freshman golf team at Sky View. Way to go Josh. We are proud of you.
