Medical Exam Day

Julie got the pleasures of escorting our little peanut today into her last medical exam....HERE ; ). Meili was not swooned by the decor of the surroundings or the attire of the medical staff. I took notes TreeHouse girls....We may need to change our uniforms. Meili did loosen up a little when she saw her examiner wearing work-out shorts (Magnum PI style) adorned with a white doctor jacket. She tolerated the experience and played joyfully while lurking in the back room was the nursing staff preparing her vaccinations. Some of the pictures we took today may demonstrate a hint of knowledge about what was to come, or just a growing distrust for me (daddy ; )=). I think I'm growing on her. You be the judge. Remember the reference point of the photos would be me taking the picture.
Julie is feeling much better and would like to go for a walk (code for shopping). Meili is resting peacefully in our hotel room (actually she is all twisted up in a yoga position while sleeping....I may have to try it). Julie is really doing a wonderful job nurturing our energizer bunny. Meili is in/out, up/down, running away from her/to her if I am involved, and in her arms or on her lap.
Julie was just laughing in the other room. I asked what was up. She informed me that Meili had taken some laminated pictures we had sent to her all bound up together and had personally disconnected the two photos with me in them from the rest of the group.......(can I just butt in here a minute?? this is Julie.....there are others with Russel in them that she left alone and the one she ripped out was of him and me and she adores it and sleeps with it every night.....she loves Russel, she just isn't willing to let him see that yet. In the airport yesterday he left to get a little treat, and she strained her little neck watching his every move....Russel was also taken away from us during the security check for what reason we didn't know at the time other than he was just whisked away. Meili threw herself on the ground and started screaming.)
Julie reminded me that yesterday I was whisked away unpleasantly and no one was telling me why. The guards took me into a little room and chinese words back and forth is all I could get out of the situation. I finally said ENGLISH!!!!! ENGLISH!!!!! Finally, a guard said, "my english is not very good". I told him his english was much better than my Chinese. Nobody up to that point had answered my Chinese. So we went with it. Apparently they had never seen a hand mixer or hairspray quite like the one in "Julie's bag". We got it all straightened out. Yeah, I took one for the team! Probably much less drama with Julie holding Meili's hand while she was being wanded (yes even in China they pick on the least suspected person).
Back to today....We continue to love Meili so much. She is and has been part of us forever it feels. Our connection with her is so special, its eternal. We feel blessed to have her back with us (it really feels like that...even with the stares I get from her!)
Lots of love to our family back home...and friends too.
