Long Day For....Everyone.




Today Meili passed her TB skin test! That was the big todo this morning. The rest of the day was touring the Chinese "buy this good price" markets. We got home and were disappointed with our success to guess on sizes. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to exchange or return merchandise. Meili was a trooper today, long day.....for her. She has quite the sarcastic side to her, that is in full bloom. You must watch the pictures carefully and imagine to oneself what mischief she is conjuring up. She also has a series of pictures where Julie is trying to get her changed to take a picture on the famous Red Couch at the White Swan Hotel. Meili was trying to run away and Julie was holding her face. Afterwards, look at Meili trying to squeeze her own face. Quite funny if you were there. Hopefully you all will see the fun side of this little gal. She comes up with some funny faces, activities, and sounds. She kind of is growing on me ; ).




Meili was forced to trust me a lot more today as Julie was shopping. It was a great bonding time. She is slowly figuring out that whatever she does to me, I am worse than the Energizer Bunny. I never leave, let alone keep coming back! We had some firsts today. Meili let me push her around the shopping area without needing to see where mamma was constantly. She let me get her out of her dinner chair without crying. She still has moments where she doesn't know what or who she wants (unless its her mamma).

We can't believe how quickly she is picking up on what we are saying to her. She understands so much already, but everyday she knows more. Her little vocabulary is growing. She still jabbers away in Chinese a lot. It is so adorable and we are working on capturing these moments on tape.

We feel so thankful and grateful to the BH foster home and the caretakers and volunteers for raising Meili to this point. She was well taken care of. This history is making her transition easier we are sure of. Meilin, Lisa, Grape and others are in our thoughts and prayers. They are our angels forever. We love you all and will make sure Meili understands how special you are to her. We will keep in touch for sure to continue that relationship.











One day closer but....yes we are counting!!! Good night you all. Good Luck Joshua at golf tryouts.......Keep your head down, swing firm, eyes on the ball. If all else fails yell "FORE"!!!

First Day of School.....

It's crazy to realize that it's already fall. With the kids going back to school and summer winding down, I just can't believe how fast they grow. Sometimes I wish I was the homeschooling mother. They spend way too much time in school. I feel a little deprived....but I won't flatter myself into actually thinking they would want to spend all day with me anyway. They have been in school two days and of course the little ones love it! J.D. and Nick think it's great and they love their teachers. J.D. also really thinks eating lunch at school is cool. Meili's 6th Birthday...

Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake.  That was not a problem.  Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us.  Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us.  We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town.  It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power.  We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling!  JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting.  Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy.  I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving. A Little Talky Time and a Very Sweet Reunion.....

Okay so it's been long, almost a month, since my last post. I'm a slacker. There were many times I thought about posting like when Josh had his first golf tournament and although they didn't win, he came in second on his team. Josh had lots going on this month like his new braces. I had hoped to do a whole post just about him but we kept forgetting the camera every time he had his team shirt on and the fact that his golf clubs are in a locker at the golf course didn't help.....or maybe it's just because we don't see much of him anymore and when he is home, we are doing homework. Notice I didn't say Josh is doing homework, but that WE are doing homework. It's been a long month and I feel like I'm losing my mind slightly but there are some very good fun things to report on so we will quickly do those now before I get to experience 9th grade all over again tonight, because you realize this is a nightly occurrence right? mostly well past 10 p.m.,...
