Bear Lake with the family...
















Today we spent some of the day at Bear Lake. We wanted to have one more fun day with Meili before the kids disappear during the day (school). We all had a blast, even little miss Meili. Abi brought along Hannah, one of her friends. We had some awesome raspberry shakes from Merlin's, add in some greasy french fries, and we were set to chill (in) and at Bear Lake. For anyone not familiar with Bear Lake, it is known for its chilly water temperature and unpredictable weather. However, today was perfect. Nobody sunburned or got food poisoned (yet). The kids sure are getting along well and definitely are loving mei mei! Just so it is clear and I am not accused of forcing Meili to plunge into the depths of the lake, she truly enjoyed most of the activities today, especially going under water. She did have a problem not wanting to leave when it was time. She loves to enjoy the moment. We sure are enjoying many special ones with her and the rest of the crew. We continue to receive emails from those in China who love Meili dearly. We sure love to hear from them as often as they write. We will try to let them experience as much of Meili's life here as we possibly can. We love you all.

    Oooh Bear Lake. Love it, love it! The water does look a little bit chilly though as it always is. You are brave to get in!

Meili's 6th Birthday...

Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake.  That was not a problem.  Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us.  Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us.  We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town.  It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power.  We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling!  JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting.  Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy.  I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving. Well after about an hour we returned the bike and went for snow cones.  The best snow cones in all of Bear Lake.  Yum!  Anyway, JD kept saying his heart was going so fast and I kept brush...

Girls, Girls, Girls....

So I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world. Several things have happened this month so I am devoting however long it may take today to get everything posted. This past weekend Abi invited 4 friends to go to the Nutcracker with her and Meili....of course Russel and I tagged along as well. We went to the matinee showing and beforehand they had a Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party that was an absolute must. All the girls dressed up in fancy dresses and we had a great time. The tea party was decorated like a little girl's dream. Pink everywhere, sparkles covering everything, gooey pink sweet dessert, and many performers from the show mingling and taking pictures. Abi is truly blessed to have such good friends and this is only just a handful of them. The girls were so cute and had a great time. Beautiful Drive up Logan Canyon...

On Saturday, we decided to take a little drive up the canyon and look at the beautiful fall colors and my oh my were they gorgeous!! We've been up there twice this week and just can't get enough. This time we remembered the camera. :) The kids loved seeing the vibrant leaves. The drive is truly an hour of awesomeness. Plus it's always nice to know there's a very yummy fresh raspberry shake waiting for you....not to mention chocolate covered raspberries. Just a few of our favorite moments in Bear Lake. Here are a few of the "hundreds" of pics that Russel took. He has "trigger finger." I think I narrowed it down pretty good though.....although sometimes it's hard to tell if #95 looks better #3. :)
