Another great year in Arizona celebrating Russel's birthday! Cousins, friends, good food, and golf....what else could we ask for! One of our favorite traditions ever! Hope we can always do it!
Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake. That was not a problem. Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us. Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us. We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town. It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power. We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling! JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting. Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy. I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving. Here are a couple of pictures of our two beautiful girls in their beautiful dresses from China. Meili was in no mood for pictures but we did our best before she really just wouldn't put up with the camera in her face any longer. Today Abi was out on the deck with Meili just playing. Abi managed to capture perfectly that sweet little fun personality of Meili. Here's just a glimpse....
Christmas is definitely one of my favorite times of the year (even though it's sooo cold). I love the magic, the joy, the service, the love felt for our Savior and all that he has done for us. The last few years I have really tried to keep things simple so that we don't have as much chaos and can really enjoy the season and do things together as a family.....make new traditions, spend more quality time, etc. I definitely still have a long way to go but I think each year I make baby steps towards that goal and I find things that work and things that don't. I think the older the kids get, the more I feel like time is running out and I need more quality time with each of them. And although it drives me crazy to think about not having all my kids under one roof, I also really love the perspective it gives me. I want our memories to be about family time....not about the latest and greatest gadget. When I think about my memories, sure there are those...
