Family Pictures......
Things have been a little crazy since coming home from China and getting Josh ready to leave. Lots of bittersweet emotions. We know it will be hard to say goodbye to Josh but know that he will be serving our Lord and feel so blessed for his decision. We have prayed and hoped for this day for 18 years and now it is finally here. I don't think there's any way to prepare for that. We are so proud of him and know he will make a great missionary.
We had about 3 weeks to get everything in that needed and wanted to be done before Josh left. At the top of the list of course was family pictures (at least the top of my list). We decided to do them at the Logan temple. It seemed only appropriate as Josh recently went through the temple and we will be taking Linli soon to be sealed to our family forever. We knew we had one shot at getting these pictures and so needless to say I was a little stressed. The day came and the weather was crazy. We arrived at the temple and seriously I figured we might as well turn around and go home. I just knew it was going to be a disaster. The wind was SO strong. My hair was seriously flying straight above my head, I couldn't keep my dress down. It was cRAZY!!! I was trying to not have a total meltdown and tantrum right there. Our photographer (Erin Davis) was amazing and so cute with the kids. I'm not even sure the kids realized we were having pictures she made it so fun. And honestly when she sent me the pictures I almost cried. I was so grateful to her for keeping her finger on the shutter and taking WAY more pictures than necessary just to capture the 1 second that the wind stopped (and literally it was that ridiculous). Anyway, she was truly amazing and I know the Lord performed a little miracle for us that day. By the end all the girls' hair looked pretty beaten up but we accomplished my goal and I will treasure these pictures forever. I seriously had hoped for just enough to put on my wall......as you can see we have more than enough....and this isn't all of the ones but I had to choose and even at that it's picture overload. Here are my sweetest treasures! and hey people pay for wind right??? (i'll start with this one of Abi so you can appreciate how crazy the wind really was).
