Nico's 12th Birthday....

This year was a big one for Nick.  Turning 12 is pretty cool.  Not only does it just sound a lot more grown up, but he received the Aaronic Priesthood and now is passing the sacrament at church.  He was SO adorable the first Sunday after turning 12.  He was a little nervous but also very excited.  As he did his little route, he had the biggest grin....teeth and all.....the ENTIRE time.   It was a proud mama moment and also one of those when you just want to go grab your baby, throw him on the floor, kiss him to death and tell him to STOP growing up so dang fast.   Nick is such a good kid.  I think he is the only one that actually listens to my advice and actually thinks I'm smart enough to know something, and then EVEN follows that advice and LIKES it.   It makes me happy.   He is also such a sweet brother.  He also started babysitting the neighbors recently and is such a cute little babysitter.  He truly is the "baby whisperer."  Here are some pics from the photo shoot Abi did for me.  Thank you Abi!  She makes my life so much easier.

Nick also had lots of fun days celebrating.  We took a few friends and went to the cabin for the weekend.  It was great and the boys had an awesome time.  Of course I forgot to take pictures but it was awesome and the boys were darling.   We also went to Buffalo Wild Wings as a family and had a lot of fun.  And of course it's always fun when you get your own bottle of sauce!  And as is tradition, we had a little family party with cake and ice cream.  Nick wanted a Clash of Clans cake which I think might have been a disaster except I found very lovely lady on ebay that sells edible cake toppers and pretty soon my disastrous cake turned into something that looked pretty decent and tasted even better.




We sure do LOVE this kid!!

Meili's 6th Birthday...

Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake.  That was not a problem.  Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us.  Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us.  We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town.  It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power.  We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling!  JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting.  Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy.  I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving. Girls, Girls, Girls....

So I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world. Several things have happened this month so I am devoting however long it may take today to get everything posted. This past weekend Abi invited 4 friends to go to the Nutcracker with her and Meili....of course Russel and I tagged along as well. We went to the matinee showing and beforehand they had a Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party that was an absolute must. All the girls dressed up in fancy dresses and we had a great time. The tea party was decorated like a little girl's dream. Pink everywhere, sparkles covering everything, gooey pink sweet dessert, and many performers from the show mingling and taking pictures. Abi is truly blessed to have such good friends and this is only just a handful of them. The girls were so cute and had a great time. Beautiful Drive up Logan Canyon...

On Saturday, we decided to take a little drive up the canyon and look at the beautiful fall colors and my oh my were they gorgeous!! We've been up there twice this week and just can't get enough. This time we remembered the camera. :) The kids loved seeing the vibrant leaves. The drive is truly an hour of awesomeness. Plus it's always nice to know there's a very yummy fresh raspberry shake waiting for you....not to mention chocolate covered raspberries. Just a few of our favorite moments in Bear Lake. Here are a few of the "hundreds" of pics that Russel took. He has "trigger finger." I think I narrowed it down pretty good though.....although sometimes it's hard to tell if #95 looks better #3. :)
