Fall Activities....

We love to get together with our Chinese friends.  In the summer we try to meet up and do a little playing in the park.  We all brought our own dinner and just let the kids run wild.  They had some fun water games and everyone had a great time.  So fun to see these kids grow and flourish with love.
Nick played lacrosse this fall and had a good time.  The fall league isn't nearly as big of deal as the spring league so it was kinda nice.  It was more laid back and didn't take as much commitment.  He really improved a lot and we are hoping he will want to play next spring.  The jury is still out on whether he really likes it or not.  But he's a great little player and we love watching him.  And he's super fast!

J.D. opted to play flag football this fall and actually would have done lacrosse as well but I made him choose.  Sports are important but I like family time as well....and we never have enough of that no matter how hard we try...but I'm careful because I know there's only so much chaos I can handle and last spring about did me in.   Flag football was awesome!  J.D. is a natural and really would've rather been playing tackle football.   We told him he really needs to wait until he's older to do that (the doctor in the house has read too many articles about injuries, etc. and what age is really the safest to start).  Anyway, he's not too happy about that but I told him if he really loves it that much, it'll be worth the wait and in the meantime he can keep playing flag.  Russel got some great pictures of him showing his stuff.

Meili's Kindergarten class went on a fieldtrip to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk and I was lucky enough to go with them.  It was so fun and even though we didn't participate in the pumpkin walk this year, it was still so fun.  It is amazing how creative people can be.  Some of the displays were just crazy awesome!  Meili loved it!

These pictures are from the Halloween Recital.  We had a cowboy, a pirate (playing a pirate song), and a superhero.....well maybe just a girl wearing a superhero shirt pretending like she was dressed up enough ;).  They all did a fabulous job and I always love hearing them play.  All those hours of their hard work and begging and pleading on my part to practice, pay off in that moment.....at least until tomorrow.

And here is the ONE picture I got from Halloween.  I wish i could've got a picture of Abi.  She went to school as a dead something or other and spent half the night before and the next morning making some really gruesome wounds on her skin.  I have to admit they looked pretty dang real.  Nick was too cool to go trick or treating this year.....actually I think he would've been okay with it but some of his friends thought they were too cool.  So here's my two trick-or-treaters this year.
Meili was also invited to a fun little Halloween party with some of the girls in the neighborhood.  They had such a fun time and my good friend, Rory, did the cutest things with them.  They all felt pretty special that's for sure.
And Abi was up to it again....doing what she loves best....snapping away with the camera.  These two are my favorite pictures from her latest photo shoot.

  1. Such beautiful pictures. I think Ab has a future in photography--and a great model too!
