Mother's/Father's Day....

We are so blessed to have such good mothers and fathers in our lives.  I look around me and see so many wonderful examples of mothers and fathers doing amazing things and trying to live as Christ would have us do.   I am so grateful for these people and the blessing they are in my children's lives as well as mine.

For Mother's Day, we headed to Bear Lake and were able to have Grandma and Grandpa and Matt and Gina's family come for the weekend.  We felt bad Jared and Tammie couldn't come and missed them tons!  It was a fun weekend and we had a great spread put on by the husbands....with maybe a tiny bit of help from the wives.  I'm so glad I have my mom,  sister, and sister-in-law as best friends.  They are great examples of wonderful mothers and they make me want to be and do better.  They are so generous, loving, and kind.  Thank you for being who you are. And Mom thanks for everything.  I will be forever grateful for you and what you have taught me.  And I want you to know that I love how close we are.  I would be lost without you. XOXO!


And can I just say what a joy it is to be a mother to my 5 wonderful children.  It's the most wonderful gift to be a mother and I'm so grateful the Lord has trusted me with these sweet children.  As you can tell, my girls are okay with taking my pictures.....the boys? they were gone as soon as we walked in the door from church.



Father's Day was spent in Centerville and of course the spread put on by the wives was FANTASTIC!  We know how to treat our men that's for sure.  And I guess I really feel the same about these wonderful husbands and fathers as I do about the mothers.  They are truly amazing and take such good care of their families.  Thanks for all that you do!  And thank you Russel for being a wonderful father and husband to our little family.  We love you and are so grateful for you.  Thank you for loving us so much.



And yes I do have the best dad in the world!  I have the best memories of my sweet dad.  I always knew he loved me.  Even when he had to discipline me (which of course was hardly ever), he always showed so much love too.  And to this day, he still makes sure all his kids are taken care of. He told me the other day I was still his baby......what a great thing to be.

    LOVE the picture of you and your Dad--so sweet. I also love Russel with his 5 little munchkins. Nothing like a good Daddy to make life sweet.

Meili's 6th Birthday...

Meili's only request this year was to spend her birthday in Bear Lake.  That was not a problem.  Since it was also Raspberry Days that weekend, my family planned to come spend a fun-filled weekend with us.  Russel and I decided to come the night before and bring the three little kids with us.  We thought it would be super fun to go down to the KOA and rent a 6-person bike and ride around town.  It was a little harder than we thought since Russel and I were pretty much the man power.  We kept telling the kids to start pulling their weight and get pedaling!  JD kept complaining a little that his heart was hurting.  Well he's definitely a little athlete so I'm just thinking he's being lazy.  I kept telling him to get his groove on and get moving. Girls, Girls, Girls....

So I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world. Several things have happened this month so I am devoting however long it may take today to get everything posted. This past weekend Abi invited 4 friends to go to the Nutcracker with her and Meili....of course Russel and I tagged along as well. We went to the matinee showing and beforehand they had a Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party that was an absolute must. All the girls dressed up in fancy dresses and we had a great time. The tea party was decorated like a little girl's dream. Pink everywhere, sparkles covering everything, gooey pink sweet dessert, and many performers from the show mingling and taking pictures. Abi is truly blessed to have such good friends and this is only just a handful of them. The girls were so cute and had a great time. Beautiful Drive up Logan Canyon...

On Saturday, we decided to take a little drive up the canyon and look at the beautiful fall colors and my oh my were they gorgeous!! We've been up there twice this week and just can't get enough. This time we remembered the camera. :) The kids loved seeing the vibrant leaves. The drive is truly an hour of awesomeness. Plus it's always nice to know there's a very yummy fresh raspberry shake waiting for you....not to mention chocolate covered raspberries. Just a few of our favorite moments in Bear Lake. Here are a few of the "hundreds" of pics that Russel took. He has "trigger finger." I think I narrowed it down pretty good though.....although sometimes it's hard to tell if #95 looks better #3. :)
