Spring Sports....

We've had a lot going on in the sports department....wait, I'm pretty sure we always do.  I think spring is especially crazy though because most of the kids are involved in a sport instead of just a couple.

Josh hit the golf course as soon as possible this year.  And it was actually pretty nice, spring came early for Logan and even when there was a little snow, he could just wait a few hours and it would melt.  So he has already had a great season and it's just beginning.  He was also one of the Girls Golf Managers for Sky View.....which pretty much means....golf the last hour of the school day and see cute girls at the same time.  He will be playing in some tournaments this summer and is really excited for that.

Abi has been doing her volleyball and has had a great year.  Her team has really started playing like a team and it's definitely paying off.  She knows she only has one more year before tryouts for the freshman team at Sky View so she really wants to kick it up a notch this next year and see how much she can improve.

Nick played competitve basketball this spring and had a great time.  He had lots of friends on his team and they had a blast.  He's a good team player and knows when to pass the ball and when he should shoot.  I can't decide if he's so fun to watch because he's so adorable or such a smart player.  Right now I think basketball is his favorite sport but he's really thinking about getting into lacrosse next year and wants to follow in his brother's footsteps with golf.

J.D. did soccer and lacrosse this year.  It was a little crazy balancing the two sports but when he decided he wanted to do lacrosse, it was too late to withdraw from soccer.  What am I saying?  if you ask him, he won't tell you it was crazy, he will tell it was totally awesome.  It was just crazy for his mom trying to get him everywhere he needed to be.  I did hear him say one day...."okay I need my cleats in my lacrosse bag so I can change, etc."  I was glad he was thinking it through because sometimes moms brains just plain don't work.

His soccer team was great.  I think they were undefeated and what a fun group of boys.  They are all just great friends and had such a great season.

J.D. is a good little athlete.  It really doesn't matter the sport, he just tends to be naturally good at whatever he tries.  It was the first year for his lacrosse team and it was a 3rd/4th grade team, they had a few 2nd graders (J.D. being one of them) and none of the team had ever played before.  It was a little rough for them playing kids twice their size and really just learning the game but by the end you could really see the team come together and play.  J.D. was so funny to watch because he wasn't intimidated by anyone's size, he just went full on attack.  At the end of the season, they did a big party and J.D. was awarded the Best Offensive Player.   That famous smile of his was pretty permanent for a few days.

P.S. J.D. is #27...Sky View Colors :)

And of course, I'm everyone's biggest fan!

Finally, last but not least, our little dancer, Meili finished out her year of ballet.  She is such the little dancer.  I'm pretty sure it is just "in her."  During her last little show, they had a time when they could just do freestyle dance.  It was really cool to see how graceful and beautiful she danced when she was doing freestyle. Of course, she did well when she was doing the structured part, but I thought it was cool that her own interpretation and style was much more beautiful to watch when she was allowed to do what was in her mind.
