Log-In Date and Request for Update
I was surprised as I was reading through the blog that I hadn't made a post about the log-in date. We were jumping up and down on the day Heidi called. She called the end of March but our log-in date was actually March 18. Happy Day!! This means we are still on schedule for August. Again, that could change at anytime but at least that step has kept us where we want to be. We are now waiting on the Letter Seeking Confirmation. We are crossing our fingers for the middle of May on this step.
We are growing more in love with little Meili every day. The kids are really starting to realize that she will be here before we know it. With summer just around the corner, we know the months will go quickly and that she will be home with us soon. We are having fun finishing things up in her room and finding cute clothes for her. It's hard to really know for sure how big she will be but we are doing our best to guess since we will need to take clothes to China. Shoes are the hardest thing because that can vary so greatly. The other day we were buying her a dress and the lady that helped us was talking to us about the dress, etc. I told her that we were buying this dress for our little girl we were adopting from China and she was so excited. She was adopted from Korea and shared her experience with us. It was awesome to talk to her and hear some of her words of advice.
We are also very excited because hopefully soon we will be getting updated records and pictures of Meili. We put in the request last Wednesday and they also let us ask a few questions about her. Our questions were all medical related as they told us to ask the most important questions because usually they will only do one solid update. Heidi said sometimes the orphanages respond very quickly, others take weeks to months, and still others never respond. We are hopeful that our response time will be soon. If we don't hear within one month, our caseworker will follow up again. The pictures we have of her were taken when she was about 18 months old so she has probably changed quite a bit. It will be awesome to have a new picture of her. It will also be great to see developmentally where she is at and see if we can get some of those medical questions answered.
One of the cutest things that has been said lately about her comes from her cousin, Christian. Gina called me not too long ago and told me that Christian prays that "Meili can come home to her momma." It is truly amazing to see the love that is felt for this sweet little angel that we haven't even met yet. She has so many people praying for her and loving her....we hope and pray she can feel it. We cannot begin to describe how blessed we feel to have her come to our little family. It has been an incredible experience to see this miracle unfold and to see how the Lord has changed our lives. We are so grateful for the gospel and for the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
