First Day of School......

Image
Another school year starting and the kids were all pretty excited to go back.  Abi was probably the most excited since she was finally leaving North Cache behind and moving on to Sky View as a sophomore.   This would be the year of driving and dating for her.   Pretty fun stuff.   Nick is going into 7th grade, J.D. 5th grade (and is serving on Youth 2000 again which he was so excited about), Meili 1st grade, and Linli preschool.   Here are the cutest kids on the block!!! Good luck kids!!  We are rooting for you!   We are so proud of all of you!  We know you will do so great.  Just remember to always do your best and stay on top of things!   Love you all!   Here's to another great year!

(You can follow Josh's mission experiences at elderjoshmckenna.blogspot.com) The day finally came.....I couldn't actually even wrap my head around saying goodbye to my first born for two whole years.  What does that even feel like?   That is just too overwhelming to think about or even know how to react to all of that.   This I do know, it came at me like a freight train and even though it was one of the hardest things I've had to do, I also knew it was one of the things I have wanted most for him.   The night before he left, he was set apart as an official missionary.  It was an amazing thing to witness such an immediate change in him.  The things of the world slowly started to slip from his mind and lose their place in his life.   You could see his focus shift and his spirit radiate. His friends came that night to say their final farewell.  He has always been surrounded by good friends and for that we are so grateful. As we left for Provo the ne...

Meili's 7th Birthday.....

Meili had her 7th birthday was just a few days before Josh left.   She was so happy he could be there and we had a great little party.   We had Savanah and Emme that night and as much of the McKenna clan that could make it.   It was a mermaid birthday all around.   I guess when you have your 7th birthday you turn into a mermaid!!!  Just what Meili has always wanted! Meili adores Josh and is going to really miss him.   We always thought he would be the one to baptize her but with the missionary age change, he will not be here when she turns 8.   She was pretty sad to know he would miss her baptism but she also knows that he will be teaching others about Jesus Christ and that is so important.   She was so happy that he was able to be home for her birthday.  It was a last little hurrah and he couldn't have been sweeter to her.    Love them both so much!   She's growing up WAY too fast and I can't believe she's 7!!   She will ...
